Though these cities were notorious for their sin, Abraham intervened and negotiated with God to spare the righteous. Finally, their worship has been rendered impure by evil and injustice. This admonition instructs the leaders and people of Judah to become pure, to cease evil and seek justice. Thus the Lord asks Judah to make a choice—repent and enjoy purification through forgiveness or continue in these wicked and sinful ways and experience violent destruction.
